CBS Features Catholic Charities Work at OMI Neighborhood COVID Testing Site

by Catholic Charities – September 22, 2020

Last Friday, San Francisco Mayor London Breed and Director of Public Health Dr. Grant Colfax visited the OMI Community COVID testing site at Catholic Charities Adult Day Services in San Francisco. The visit honored the commitment of the OMI community to identify and serve those in need of critical medical help and protect all from the dangers of COVID.

One of the most successful testing sites in the City, the OMI Community Collaborative has come together to provide desperately needed services to underserved, diverse members of the community, including providing testing to several hundred people per week.

Mayor Breed and Dr. Colfax held a press conference at the site focused on the reopening of indoor dining at restaurants and the continued need for caution as San Francisco slowly continues to open. Breed and Colfax spoke with Patty and our OMI Community Collaborative partners about our ongoing efforts to support the most underserved in our community.

Great kudos to Patty Clement, Director of Client Services and the Aging Support staff at Catholic Charities, Carmen Santoni, Jennifer Chang, Andy Tien, and Fanny Valencia for their ongoing work in the OMI community.

Patty was interviewed by KPIX CBS as part of a segment focused on the impact of COVID in the community. You can watch the full clip from CBS news below, with the focus on the OMI testing site at 1:15.
