CYO Physical Education teacher, Andre Licudine, coaches eighth graders at Good Shepherd in Pacifica. At a recent mile race, the team came through for a member who needed an extra boost of support. The whole class finished the race, except Tita, who doesn’t find running to be the easiest activity. But Tita’s persistent attitude prevailed. As she rounded the corner to start her final lap, three of Tita’s teammates hopped back on the course to encourage her on the home stretch. She ended up jogging the rest of the way even though it was clearly a struggle for her. Having the boys cheer her on is proof of what CYO Physical Education is all about – it’s not about how fast you run the mile, it’s about the way you run it.
