2025 Kentucky Derby Day Helped Raise Money for Marin Programs

It was a bright, windy day at St. Vincent’s School for Boys in celebration of the 2nd Annual Catholic Charities Kentucky Derby Day. Guests came in their finest derby attire to dance, eat, and watch the 151st Run for the Roses – all in support of Catholic Charities programs and services in Marin. Highlights from the day included live country-western music from Aaron and the Brushfires, the long-anticipated Parade of Hats contest, and delicious southern-inspired delicacies.

Proceeds raised from the afternoon benefited the following Catholic Charities programs in Marin County:

  • The Eagleson Equestrian Center, providing therapeutic services to children and adults using our horses at St. Vincents.
  • Carmelita Women’s Home, helping formerly incarcerated women transition out of the prison system, find permanent and stable housing, and reclaim their lives.
  • And our CYO Athletics and Camp programs, teaching thousands of children throughout the bay area the importance of teamwork, friendship and the importance of physical and mental health.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this Derby Day truly one to remember!

We would also like to thank our incredible sponsors who helped make this event a success. Thank you to The Thoresen Foundation, Milicent and Bob Lalanne, George and Mary Lawson, Catholic Charities San Francisco, Ford Fairfield, and SF Firefighters Local 798.
