Gift Cards can help families like Ricardo and Claudia’s, who had been separated from their children and living in a tent before finding a home through Catholic Charities.
“We feel so very blessed, and the only thing we wanted for Christmas was this apartment, a place to be with our children,” Arevalos, 31, said, stroking the head of 1-year-old Damian Mendoza as he slept in her lap. “Nothing else is as important as this.”

Toiletries and Hygiene Kits are necessities for individuals in our shelters, especially during the holiday season. Hygiene Kits allow individuals to maintain dignity.
Kits for adults may include: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, bar soap, disposable, razors, shaving cream, nail clippers/files, tweezers, body wipes, hand sanitizer, feminine hygiene products, socks (please put liquid items in plastic bags).
Kits can help individuals like Frankie. Frankie is a former Catholic Charities client living with HIV/AIDS who was homeless before becoming a resident at Peter Claver Community. “I have no family to turn to and had no resources when I got here,” Frankie said. “I was living on the street and barely surviving. Now I have the care I need and a roof over my head. The folks at Peter Claver truly care and I’m grateful to Catholic Charities for the help.”
Kits for children may include: Hand sanitizer, Toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo/soap in one, wipes, baby blanket, stuffed animal, socks (please put liquid items in plastic bags).
