A Message to Parishioners from Father Ginter
Dear Parishioners,
I have been with you now for almost two years. I love our community that we have that brings us together in the name of Christ. Another reason I love being the priest at St. Vincent’s is because of Its beauty. The beauty of the chapel elevates our worship and allows us to see God even when our mind wanders. There really is nothing else like this chapel in our area as it comes to beauty.
The windows are in need of repair in order to maintain the beauty. The windows at Most Holy Rosary Chapel were originally installed in 1928-29. There are a total of sixteen windows in the Chapel and two upstairs in the small chapel built for the Dominican Sisters.
All the windows on the north side of the Chapel and several others are badly in need of repair due to exposure to the weather for many years. Repairs require the windows to be removed, one at a time, then cleaned, releaded, reglazed and reinstalled.
The estimated cost for the entire project is $200,000. The Godmothers will lead the effort to make the needed repairs and have generously stepped up to donate $75,000. The balance needs to be raised in the next 30 days in order to begin the work as soon as possible.
You will find envelopes dedicated to this effort in each pew and in the vestibule. You can make your donation in cash or check (made out to The Godmothers) and place it in the collection basket any Sunday or simply mail your check directly to the Godmothers in the preprinted envelope. All donations are fully tax deductible. Please contact Kathy McNeil at (415) 302-7571 if you have any questions.
Thank you for your generous support of our church.
In Christ,
Fr. Andrew Ginter
