Assisted Housing & Health
Catholic Charities Assisted Housing & Health supports and stabilizes housing for men and women living in the City and County of San Francisco who have HIV/AIDS. Clients are provided with access for housing combined with other support services. The program serves more than 1,100 clients annually. The program was established in 1985 to stabilize the precarious housing situations of low-income people with HIV/AIDS through rent subsidies. Through the program, clients may receive case management, referrals to community support and counseling. Assisted Housing & Health also collaborates with all other HIV service providers in the county to ensure that residents’ medical, psychological, social and vocational needs are met. Our Assisted Housing & Health serves as a major link in the HIV continuum of care through education, counseling and support.
Through Saint Joseph’s Fund, our program is able to provide financial support to offset medical costs.
The program offers services such as:
• Housing advocacy
• Referrals to vocational rehabilitation services
• Community support
