Leland House

Lily came to Leland House after years of suffering through abuse, homelessness, forced prostitution, addiction to crack, and a stroke that put her in a wheelchair. The staff at Catholic Charities Leland House provided Lily with the health care she needed to recover from her addiction, including an invitation to attend Narcotics Anonymous. With support, Lily is learning to manage her medications properly, attend Daily Living Skills trainings, and receive dental care for the first time in 20 years. After five years of stable residence at Leland House, Lily is coming out of her shell as she demonstrates increased self-care, less isolation, and an increased trust in the staff and fellow residents.
