Catholic Charities is proud to create and foster great relationships with all of our volunteers. We look forward to hearing from you and beginning your process as a Catholic Charities volunteer!
Below are the basic steps for becoming an on-going volunteer. For more specific questions about becoming a volunteer, please email Volunteer@CatholicCharitiesSF.org.
1: Volunteer Inquiry – Complete the form at the bottom of the page to submit a general volunteer inquiry.
2: Volunteer Info Session – Attend one of our next Volunteer Info Sessions.
3: Volunteer Application – After attending a Volunteer Info Session you’ll be asked to complete a volunteer application.
4: Program Interview – Visit the program and meet the staff to confirm that a potential placement is the correct fit.
5: Background Check and Policy & Procedures – Complete a Livescan background check at our main office or an off-site screening facility and review Policies & Procedures including code of conduct, expectations, and confidentiality policy.
7: Orientation – Attend an orientation at the chosen program and set up a volunteer schedule with program staff. Final placement in a program is not granted until all paper work including a background have cleared.
